Deluxe Whale Watching break
While the waters near Reykjavik are great for whale watching, Husavik in the northern part of the country is considered Iceland's whale watching capital. This package includes flights, three nights accommodation in Reykjavik and an action-packed full day tour to the north of the country for the ultimate whale watching.
The day after arrival, you will fly from Reykjavik to Akureyri, Iceland's second largest city which is set in a stunning fjord. You will board a coach for the majestic waterfall Goðafoss and beautiful Lake Mývatn, where the bird life is teeming and nature is truly alive, as geothermal activity abounds and fascinating lava silhouettes dot the landscape in all directions.
At midday you will head for Húsavík, a charming coastal village, and set out to sea on a whale watching tour with seasoned guides who maintain an incredible 98.5% success rate for sighting various species of whales. Some of the more frequently spotted are Minke whales and Humpback whales. And if you are lucky you may even spot a Fin whale or even the Blue whale, the world's largest animal.
This package still leaves you plenty of time to explore Reykjavik and even do other activities like horse riding, glacier walking and more.
