Day 1 / Wednesday
On Wednesday you start with a hike to the amazing hot spring area of Reykjadalur valley where you can even take a relaxing bath in a hot river when conditions allow in autumn and spring time… a fairly easy but rewarding trek in to mountains riddled with hot springs. Heading to Eldhestar horse farm for lunch, followed by a horse-riding trip around the farm. This is a great chance to experience the unique Icelandic horse and its abilities.
Day 2 / Thursday
The adventure of the day is a surreal and breathtaking snorkeling visit to the Silfra ravine in the heart of the park. The Silfra is located on the boundary between America and Europe and offers crystal clear underwater views of the lava fissure. Silfra is one of the top ten dive sites in the world and it’s even better for snorkeling. The afternoon is left open for you to do whatever your heart desires.
Day 3 / Friday
On Friday morning you head out for an amazing visit to the Golden Circle. There you will visit the Geysir hot spring area, the Gullfoss waterfall and Þingvellir national park. You dine on a traditional Icelandic meat soup at the Gullfoss Café. You will then explore the amazing Leiðarendi lava cave with its surreal heat formations and winding underground tunnel system.
Day 4 / Saturday
On Saturday morning you head along the South Coast towards the glaciers. Arriving at Sólheimjökull glacier you gear up for a glacier hike. Sólheimajökull is a rugged, cracked and utterly breathtaking outlet glacier. After about an hour of glacier hiking you stop at one of the many ice walls. There you can, under the supervision of experts, try your hand at climbing the ice. On the way back to Reykjavík you make a short stop at the Skógafoss waterfall.
Day 5 / Sunday
On Sunday morning you can sleep in and relax after your adventurous weekend, maybe explore Reykjavik a little before heading to the world famous Blue Lagoon for a relaxing Sunday afternoon in the milky blue waters.
