Guesthouse Frumskogar is a family run guesthouse in quiet surrondings in the heart of Hveragerdi. They offer accomodation in first class apartments and cozy rooms. They have excellent outdoor facilities including a hot tub.

The Hestheimar is a great place to visit and enjoy horse riding lessons taught by qualified riding instructors as well as many horse shows! New double rooms with private bathroom at the main building, six of them. In addition, two double rooms with shared bathroom. Also a hot tub outside with the best view in Iceland ! The Guesthouse at Hestheimar has four double rooms, two of the with ensuite bathroom and two of them with shared bathroom. The Guesthouse has also a loft where 12 people can sleep ( a sleeping bag arangement). Hence all in all, 20 people can stay in the Guesthouse at the same time. There is also a hot tub, where our Guests can relax as well as on outdoor barbeqe. In addition, we can offer our guests another cosy loft above the stables, where 18 people can stay.

Hotel Eldhestar is situated at the farm Vellir, just 30 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Nearby is the town of Hveragerdi, a geothermal resort with many excellent riding and hiking trails. All 26 double rooms have a private bathroom, TV, Internet connection and doors out to the garden in every room. The hotel has its own riding school and can offer a range of riding tours.

Skálholt in Biskupstungur is one of Iceland´s most important historic sites. Christianity was made state religion of Iceland by law in the year 1000 A.D. The country’s first bishop, Ísleifur Gissurarson, ordained in 1056, settled at Skálholt, which was the episcopal see of South Iceland and a center of culture and education for 700 years. Of the bishops residing there in the middle ages, Þorlákur Þórhallsson (bishop 1178-1198), Iceland’s only saint, should be remembered.
