Hi Gareth & your team.
What an absolutely wonderful holiday. Got back this afternoon and saw no rain until just a few showers in Reykjavik yesterday. The Laugerholl hotel we found was 15 miles out of Holmavik - very friendly place though.
Must talk to you sometime.
Kindest regards, Audrey & Ken Smithem
Hi Gareth and Garry! I just want to say that the team had a really great time on the Iceland trip. They had a lot of nice things to say about it and it seemed that everything went very smoothly. Thank you for all of your help and patience in working to put the trip together for them. And hopefully we will get to go to Iceland again someday!

I thought I would let you know that we had a fantastic time in Iceland and are saving to go back again.
Thank you for all your help with the bookings etc, we had no problems at all.
Thank you once again and rest assured that I will recommend Iceland Holidays to everyone.
I just wanted to let you know that we returned safe and sound from our Iceland Holiday last week, having had a wonderful time. Everything ran smoothly and the Icelanders were all friendly and helpful. We saw whales on our whale watching trip and a huge waterfall in the snow. Great stuff and thank you for arranging it all for us.
Best wishes, Juliet Astley-Jones
Been meaning to drop you a line for some time
We had a fantastic time - weather couldn't have been better with only one hour or so of rain whilst you in the UK were getting soaked!
All the arrangements were spot on - only down side as the grumpy landlady in Guest House Arbol in Husavik but it didn't spoil anything!
Hotel Tindastoll was the highlight accommodation wise
Kids really enjoyed it - as did we - can't wait to go again!
Many thanks for organising our trip to Iceland at such short notice. All
went very smoothly and your selection of places to stay and visit made a
well balanced and interesting first visit to the country. We had a most
enjoyable trip and look forward to going back to experience more!
Gareth, please take a bow--------------you are an absolute star! Anita and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Iceland, courtesy of your well- thought out and judicious planning, which ensured that we both enjoyed a fantastic experience on a truly magical and mystical island, which we both found captivating and enthralling!
We were singularly impressed with the manner in which you had given great consideration to the best way in which to maximise a 9 day tour of the island, and you certainly came up trumps--------many thanks for a truly memorable experience of this mysterious and enchanting island-------our trip got off to a great start with our 2 nights in Reykjavik, despite the low lying cloud, and we made friends with the potter very near the hotel, and with the charming craftswoman, next door, who has taken photos of the chuch under all the different atmospheres, and who then moved to a house, which had always appeared in her photos------really lovely!!
We also loved Schnaefelnes, where we found the hotel owner, "John" extremely pleasant, with a really good sense of humour, and an engaging personality----------the area around there was so quiet, and serene------------what a lovely contrast with the hustle and bustle of London!!
The journey up to Husavik was also very memorable, with some stunning scenery, and the location you selected, with the chalet overlooking the fiord was really magical, as we both love bird-life, and spectacular views, and listening to all the birds at dawn and dusk was really fantastic! Our whale-watching trip was brilliant, despite only seeing glimpses of a couple of hump-bank whales, but the Spanish guide was superb , and we had a long chat with her afterwards, as we have a great affinity with all things Spanish!
As you are aware, our last port of call was at the Frost and Fire chalets, which were truly enthralling, with a great location, and I was to be seen in the hot tub, and the swimming pool at 5.30 this morning, reading my guide book on Iceland, before being treated to a scrummy breakfast, arranged by a lovely young lady, Orsi, from Hungary.
We shall definitely be back to visit the parts of the island which we did not have time to cover, and I shall be emailing all my friends, urging them to visit the island, via the guidance of your goodself. I shall copy you in on my email to them, accordingly.
Many thanks again for making our visit so pleasurable and memorable, and for so thoughtfully planning our journey so as to maximise our enjoyment----------very well done!
Anita and Rod the Viking!
Dear Gareth and colleagues
Just a note to say thanks for the help organising our trip last week.
Everything went without a hitch and the hotels were all excellent.
Only complaint-no Northern lights!! which means we'll have to go again sometime.
We spent the W/E with our daughter in Sheffield after the visit to Iceland and only returned last evening. Thought I should pass on our comments re the visit.
Thank you for the opportunity to go back - we appreciated it. We did not manage to find the time to get to the crash site in Reykjanes where my wife's father's plane crashed. In the end we felt doing the climb on our own at our age was a little risky. Nevertheless we did get to the grave in Fossvogur Cemetery where he is buried.
Regarding the various hotels - you may wish to hear the following.
Hotel Bjork - A little unprepossessing in its situation but the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful or welcoming. The rooms we had were quite large, very clean and the beds comfortable. We ate at the 'Pot and Pan' which is part of the hotel on the last night's stay and had a good and not too expensive meal by Iceland standards. The first evening we ate in town - considerably more.
Hotel Borganes -Good impression from the outside, once again staff welcoming and friendly. We ate at the hotel and had an excellent meal. Room good - corner of building overlooking the fjord. Not a lot in Borganes but as a stop for visiting Snaefellsjokull good. We managed to dawdled our way right around to Stykkisholmur (which we found disappointing) and had a good day out. Even saw two birds we missed last time - a pair of Harlequin Ducks and Little Auk.
Northern Light Inn. - excellent as ever. Good staff and an excellent shuttle facility. Ideal for a visit to Blue Lagoon which we made again. Another very enjoyable meal. Very comfortable room.
In the end we hired a car with Geysir. That was fine but anybody who does so needs to tell them their flight arrival details. I did not and after quite a delay had to go looking for the office. After that the Hyundai i10 served us well and it was a good price.
All in all a very successful and enjoyable stay made quite spectacular by the lupins in flower.
Thank you once again for the opportunity.
Perhaps one day we will visit the far north west to Akureyri - the only major part we have missed out on.
