Hotel Geysir

Hotel Geysir is the newest addition to the Geysir family-run hotel on the doorstep of the geothermal area of Geysir and Strokkur in the historic Haukadalur Valley.

Only having opened 1st of August 2019, the resort is already making waves (or eruptions we should say!) in the stunning country of Iceland for its contemporary interiors and fantastic location in one of the country’s most coveted regions.

The new hotel is designed to reflect the nature that surrounds it with 77 rooms and 6 suites showcasing high quality furnishings and extremely comfortable beds! The rooms promise to be bright, light and with stunning views of the scenery. The large windows throughout the hotel are the perfect place to rest your feet after a day of exploring as you watch the magical country of Iceland go by. The dining room is another fantastic addition to the architecture for its views onto the hotel’s garden. There is also private dining on the rooftop terrace which provides an unmissable 360-degree panorama of the area and the herb garden.

Hotel Geysir’s most notable feature is its location right beside the area of Geysir, one of the greatest natural attractions of Iceland for which the hotel is named after. The indescribable spectacle geyser known as Strokkur is also nearby so you can easily watch as it spurts water 30 metres into the air every few minutes. As well as geysers, there are hot springs including the stunning turquoise-coloured Belsi in the area.

During the months between September and March, you may also be lucky enough to witness the breathtaking Iceland Northern Lights. This phenomenon is much easier to catch at Hotel Geysir thanks to its remote location perfectly complimented by its geothermal activities. Sit on the rooftop terrace and admire the northern lights or take a trip with one of our Iceland ATV or horseback riding tours for a truly unforgettable experience.

We honestly don’t believe there is hotel that can do better than the new Hotel Geysir in Iceland. Book your visit today at Iceland Holidays here or contact us on info@icelandholidays.com for more information.
