In the Northern Lights Iceland holiday itinerary below, we have created a bespoke package to give you the best chance to see the Aurora borealis on your trip. From staying at a remote country hotel in the middle of Iceland’s countryside to journeying on an exclusive Northern Lights tour, we’ll make sure you can tick the northern lights off your bucket list.

Return flights from UK airport to Iceland

4 nights hotel including breakfast (2 nights in Reykjavik, 2 nights at Hotel Ranga)

5 days car hire with pick up and drop off at the airport

What you'll do

Day 1:

Fly in from your chosen UK airport and land safely at Keflavik.

Pick up your car hire from the airport and drive to your Reykjavik hotel

Take the afternoon to explore the capital and enjoy some tasty Icelandic food for dinner

Stay overnight at your Reykjavik hotel

Day 2:

Drive to South Iceland towards Hotel Ranga and enjoy the scenery along the way. You can either enjoy free rein of your own adventure or we can organise a day trip for you.

Stay overnight at Hotel Ranga, a luxurious remote hotel in the middle of Iceland’s countryside that is famous for its Northern Lights sightings.

Day 3:

Once again, you can either enjoy free rein of your day and explore South Iceland at your own leisure or we can include a day-tour for you to enjoy. We highly recommend the Golden Circle route which takes you to three of Iceland’s most famous spots: the Geysir, Gulfoss waterfall and Thingvellir National Park.

In the evening, you will be taken on a Northern Lights evening tour where our experienced guides will take you to some of the best and most remote spots in Iceland’s countryside to see the northern lights.

Stay overnight at Hotel Ranga

Day 4:

Head back towards Reykjavik for your final full day in Iceland. Explore the city by yourselves or enjoy a Reykjavik sightseeing tour at an extra cost. You will learn about the rich history and culture that shaped Iceland by visiting the prime landmarks and attractions in and around the capital city. Sit back and enjoy educational commentary, interesting facts, and stories that relate to the most important locations in and around Reykjavik.

Day 5:

Drive to the airport and drop the car hire off

Fly back to the UK
