Icelandair Rules on Cremated remains

Please ensure they are shipped in funeral urns which are securely placed in suitable packaging, surrounded by protective cushioning to prevent any damage. Please note that a copy of the death certificate (and cremation certificate, if applicable) must accompany the remains.

For smoother screening at the airport, we suggest to use a temporary or permanent crematory container made from a lighter weight material, such as wood or plastic. This helps security officers during the scanning process. Please be aware that containers which create unclear images might face restrictions.
