An exciting family action packed Iceland Adventure package holiday including loads of sights and activities
What you'll do
Day 1: Arrive in Iceland
Fly in from your chosen UK airport and land at Keflavik.
Get collected from the airport and transferred to Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Take the rest of the day to settle in, unwind after your flight, and get your first taste of Icelandic hospitality.
Stay overnight at Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Day 2: City Tour and Whale Watching
Start the day with a guided city tour, taking in Reykjavik's landmarks, harbour, and colourful streets while your guide shares the history and culture that shaped the capital.
In the afternoon, head out on a whale watching tour. Iceland's cold, nutrient-rich waters draw in a huge variety of marine life, and with a bit of luck you will spot minke whales, humpbacks, dolphins, or porpoises out on the fjord.
Stay overnight at Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Day 3: Black and Blue Lava Cave and Silfra Lake
Today combines two of Iceland's most dramatic natural features. First, descend into a real lava cave, walking through ancient tunnels carved by molten rock thousands of years ago. Then head to Thingvellir National Park for the Silfra fissure, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, and the glacial meltwater is famous for being some of the clearest in the world.
Stay overnight at Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Day 4: Snaefellsnes National Park Tour
Spend the day exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, often called Iceland in miniature for the way it packs black sand beaches, dramatic sea cliffs, lava fields, and the iconic Snaefellsjokull glacier into one compact region. Highlights include the fishing villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, the striking Kirkjufell mountain, and the volcanic beach at Djupalonssandur.
Stay overnight at Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Day 5: Viking Horse Riding and Golden Circle
Start the morning in the saddle of a native Icelandic horse, a breed famous for its extra gait, the tolt, and its friendly, sturdy character, riding out through the countryside on a Viking-style excursion.
In the afternoon, take in Iceland's classic Golden Circle route: Thingvellir National Park, where you can walk through the rift valley between two continents, Gullfoss waterfall, where glacial water thunders down in two dramatic tiers, and the Geysir geothermal area, where Strokkur erupts every few minutes.
Stay overnight at Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Day 6: Free Day
Today is yours to spend as you please. Explore Reykjavik's shops, cafes, and museums at your own pace, relax at your hotel, or book an optional extra tour or spa visit to fill the day.
Stay overnight at Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Day 7: Whale Watching and Sky Lagoon Combo
Head back out on the water for a second chance to spot whales, dolphins, and porpoises in Iceland's rich coastal waters.
In the afternoon, unwind at the Sky Lagoon, a striking oceanfront geothermal lagoon just outside Reykjavik. Take a dip in the infinity-edge pool overlooking the sea, then work through the seven-step Ritual, Sky Lagoon's signature spa journey combining a cold plunge, sauna, and body scrub, for the perfect way to end your last full day.
Stay overnight at Aurora Hotel Laxnes.
Day 8: Fly Home
Get collected from your hotel and taken back to Keflavik airport for your return flight to the UK.
