Pick up your car hire from the airport and drive to your Reykjavik hotel

Take the afternoon to explore the capital and enjoy some tasty Icelandic food for dinner

Stay overnight at your Reykjavik hotel

Day 2:

Take a 2 hour drive towards Husafell.  In Húsafell's surrounding nature you can expect to find dense woodlands, waterfalls, glaciers, rugged lava, crystal springs, wildflowers plus remarkable archaeological remain.

You could book the Into the Glacier tour an additional cost.  Starting from Iceland’s historic Þingvellir National Park, this tour transports you across the rugged highlands for an unforgettable glacial experience. You’ll traverse the frozen terrain of the Langjökull glacier in our specially modified glacier vehicle, and journey deep inside the pristine blue ice via a man-made tunnel into the heart of the glacier.

Drive back towards Reykjavik and stay overnight

Day 3:

Drive towards the Golden Circle and explore the area. Combining history, culture and extraordinary nature, you can see Thingvellir National Park and walk among the geological wonders of the fissure zone and in the footsteps of the early Viking settlers where the Althingi parliament was founded. You can then see the Gullfoss and feel the mist of glacial water as it cascades down one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls.  Finally, you can witness the Geysir and hear the bubbling of the mud pots, smell the sulphur in the air and watch in awe as the geyser Strokkur blasts boiling water into the air.

Then drive 1 hour towards Hvolsvöllur where you will stay the night

Day 4:

Drive 20 minutes to Seljalandsfoss  waterfalls and then another 30 minutes to Skogafoss.

After you've explored the waterfalls, drive 30 minutes to Vik the Southernmost village in Iceland. Then drive to  Skaftafell National Park and explore the area there before checking into your hotel for the night.

Day 5:

Spend today in Skaftafell and explore the area. See the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and even take a boat ride on the water for an additional cost.

After you've explored to your heart's content, take the 4 hour drive to Egilsstaðir where you will stay for the night.

Day 6:

Wake up early and drive to Dettifoss. Dettifoss is a waterfall found in North Iceland, said to be the most powerful in Europe. It is regularly visited on Diamond Circle tours and should not be missed by any visiting the region.

Then drive 40 minutes through Jökulsárgljúfur and visit Ásbyrgi canyon.  Asbyrgi (Shelter of the Gods) is the remarkable horseshoe-shaped canyon. Viking settlers believed to be a hoof-print formed by Sleipnir, Odin’s eight-legged flying horse from Norse mythology.

Then drive 90 minutes to Lake Myvatn where you will stay the night.

Day 7:

Drive to Husavik in the morning. The town of Húsavík sits on the eastern shore of Shaky Bay, known around the world as Whale Capital of Iceland. In the past years whales have been spotted in 98% of all whale-watching trips so we highly reccommend booking one before you go.

Then drive 40 minutes to Godafoss waterfall before driving to Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The Snæfellsnes peninsula is often referred to as “Iceland in Miniature” or “Iceland in a Nutshell”. This well-deserved nickname was given to the peninsula because of the diversity of its landscapes.

Stay overnight in the Snæfellsnes Peninsula
