Interior Crossing via Hot Springs

What you'll do

Day 1: Arrive in Iceland

Fly in from your chosen UK airport and land safely at Keflavik.

Pick up your car hire from the airport and drive to the Northern lights Inn.

Stay overnight at The Northern Lights Inn.

It may be possible for you to book a ticket to the Blue Lagoon at an extra cost and depending on the arrival of your flight.

Day 2: The Golden Circle

Drive east towards the Goldern Circle. Enjoy a whole day of exploring the Golden Circle combining history, culture and extraordinary nature, you will see Thingvellir National Park and walk among the geological wonders of the fissure zone and in the footsteps of the early Viking settlers where the Althingi parliament was founded. Head towards Gullfoss and feel the mist of glacial water as it cascades down one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls.  Finally, you will witness the Geysir and hear the bubbling of the mud pots, smell the sulfur in the air and watch in awe as the geyser Strokkur blasts boiling water into the air.

Day 3: The Secret Lagoon

Drive to the Secret Lagoon and spend the day relaxing in Icelands oldest geo thermal pool. Don't forget to take your swimming costume you can rent a towel and locker at the lagoon.

You can also visit the Kerid Volcanic Crater. Scientists believe that Kerið was once a cone saped volcano. Upon eruption, it is widely believed that the volcano depleted its magma reserve, causing the foundation to fall in upon itself and result in the formation it has today. Of course, this was two thousand years before settlement, so no one is quite certain.

Day 4: Akureyri

Today drive from Hotel Geysir towards Akureyri stopping on the way at Hveravellir called the most beautiful geothermal area in Iceland. Here you can bathe in the geothermal pools out in the wilderness they sit between two of Iceland's glaciers, Langjokull and Hofsjokull. Here you can whitness boiling mud pools, steaming furmaroles and beautiful azure hot springs. Drive on towards Akureyri, Icelands fourth largest town where you can explore the museums, art galleries and bars!

Day 5: Husavik

Drive towards Husavik Iceland's oldest settlement and also the capital of whale watching, if required we can book you a tour at an extra cost. Also because the town is so far north you may see the northern lights in the winter. Spend the day exploring as there is a general museum and a whale museum.

Day 6: Egilsstadi 

Drive south towards Egilsstadi here you will be able to hike upto the Studlagil canyon to discover the basalt rocks, or onto Litlanesfoss a stunning waterfall. Please take appropriate footware and clothing for a hike.

Day 7-10: Drive back to Reykjavik

Remaining days, drive back to Reykjavik and explore the capital before flying home.
