Hotel Varmaland

It takes just a few minutes to reach  Varmaland off the main road nr. 1 and a little more than an hour  to drive from Reykjavik Capital area. Hótel Varmaland is a brand new country hotel in a renovated historical building near Borgarnes.The hotel has all modern facilities, the atmosphere is charming and the surroundings beautiful and peaceful.

Our wonderful Calor Restaurant is on the 4th / top floor, with a spectacular panoramic view over Borgarfjördur and a delicious “a la carte menu” from local farms. The restaurant seats up to 130 gests, ideal for both individuals and small or bigger groups. Group menu available booked in advance.

We offer 60 rooms in four categories. The hotel’s style is Icelandic/Scandinavian and all rooms have private bathrooms. A continental breakfast buffet is served each morning, included in the accommodation.

Hotel Varmaland is only 98 km, 1hour and 15min drive from Reykjavík and and 143 km, 2 hours away from Keflavik International airport.

Attractions such as the hot spring of Deildartunguhver, Krauma baths and Hraunfossar waterfalls are only few minutes away from Hotel Varmaland and the Ice cave at Langjökull Glacier and the Lava cave are within 1hour drive away from the hotel. Hiking, cycling and horse riding can be enjoyed in the surroundings and Varmalands local swimming pool is in 2min walk.
